Jamie Lynn Gilliam, Artistic Director

Voice, Dance, Piano, Acting Instructor 


Miss Jamie Lynn has over 25 years of dance experience, 15 years of vocal training, and has professional experience as both a vocal coach and dance instructor. She has performed all over the United States in professional companies. Miss Jamie Lynn holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theatre with a concentration in dance from Otterbein College. Her performance credits include three years of nightly performances at a popular Times Square, NYC musical theatre venue, as well as numerous regional and summerstock theatre productions. Miss Jamie Lynn had a successful vocal studio in New York City for several years before deciding to move back home to pursue her dream of starting a theatre arts academy for the youth of the Louisville metro area.

Miss Jamie Lynn's teaching style is interactive, energetic, and customized to each student's learning style.

Josh Gilliam, Acting Teacher

Mr. Gilliam holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Otterbein College.  He has performed professionally in musicals, children's opera, outdoor drama, theme park shows, a science museum theatre troop, and more.  Locally, Josh has performed with Centerstage as Javert in Les Miserables, StageOne Family Theatre as Tom/Mr. Baskin in Big: The Musical, Music Theatre Louisville as Edward Rutledge 1776, and tends to sing wherever and whenever his wife tells him to for church events, fundraisers, etc.

Kathy Todd Chaney, Dance Teacher


Kathy Todd Chaney owned and operated the Kathy Todd Dance Studio from 1973-2011. Many of her students have gone on to perform in New York, L.A., Germany, Cruise Ships, been in Dance Companies, and have started studios of their own. Kathy is resident choreographer for the internationally-acclaimed Jeffersonville High School where she is proud to have been on the production team for four shows selected to perform at the International Thespian Conference and one at the Fringe Festival in Scotland. Kathy has also choreographed shows at Clarksville Little Theatre, Kentucky Country Day, Mummers and Minstrels, Hayswood Theatre, Not Ready for Shakespeare Players, Trinity High School, Shelby County Theatre, YMCA’s Willow Tree Theatre, and Story Station Children’s Theater, also performing at most of these theaters, as well as Music Theatre of Louisville. She is very excited about the role reversal that has made her a teacher this year for her former student and teacher, Miss Jamie Lynn.







Kristen Vest, Dance Teacher


Kristen Vest has been taking dance for 17 years at Kathy Todd Dance Studio, and has been a dance teacher for 10 years. Kristen enjoys spending her free time with her amazing husband and  beautiful daughter and son. Her daughter, Kayleigh danced in her third recital this year with her Twinkle Stars class. Kristen teaches Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop for all ages.





Cherish Puckett, Dance Teacher

Cherish Puckett started dancing at the Kathy Todd Dance Studio ten years ago, studying Hip-Hop, Modern, Jazz and Lyrical under Ms. Becky Hoben, Ms. Cathy Spencer and Ms. Erin Wilson. She has competed at both regional and national levels. Cherish is a graduate of Fairdale High School, and this fall Cherish will be a junior at Spalding University, pursuing her degree in Elementary Education. Cherish has a passion for dance and loves working with and teaching her students.



Emily Hickey, Dance Teacher


Emily Hickey, a graduate of Butler High School, has been dancing for 15 years, and has spent the last five years as a teacher of dance. Emily started dancing at five years old, studying under Amanda Wilding at the Kathy Todd Dance Studio. Emily has known that teaching dance would be a passion since she was six years old, and loves her students as much as she loves teaching.



Lynnette Jones, Piano Teacher



Lynnette Jones has been playing piano for 27 years, and has been teaching off and on for about 17 years. For the past six years, she has also been the Music Director at Chapel Hill United Church of Christ, where she also directs the choir as well as a Chimes Choir. Lynnette also is learning to play the hammered dulcimer, and hopes to learn to play guitar one day.





Lindsay Knight,  Dance Teacher

Lindsay Knight began her ballet training at age 6 with Ballet California. At age 15, ahe moved to Santa Rosa Dance Theater to study with Tamara Statkoun, prinicipal dancer with the Kirov Ballet, and Gina Ness, principal dancer with San Francisco Ballet. Lindsay is a recent graduate from Indiana University, graduating with highest distinction with a double major in Ballet Performance and psychology and an Outside Field in Spanish. Lindsay is currently a trainee with the Louisville Ballet Company. She also includes lyrical, jazz and hip hop among her dance styles.



Hayley Cooper,  Dance Teacher


Hayley Cooper was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where she began her dance training at the age of fourteen with Fushion Dance Studio under the direction of owner, Becky Ewing. Hayley has continued her training in programs hosted by Ballet West, Complexions Contempary Ballet and BODYTRAFFIC, as well as training in Los Angeles with Stefan Wenta, Westside School of Ballet, and Marat Daukayev Ballet School. Hayley graduated summa cum laude from Loyaola Marymount University iwth a B.A. in Dance. At Loyola, her performance work included a contemporary pointe solo choreographed by Lillian Barbeito, co-artistic director of BODYTRAFFIC, as wel as a role in MONGERE (excerpts) by Barak Marshall. Under the mentorship of Lillian Barbeito, her thesis included choreographing, producing and performing in an evening length contemporary ballet. Profressionally, she has freelanced for ballet and modern companies, including Heather Maloy's Terpsicorps Theatre fo Dance in Asheville, North Carolina. Currently, Hayley is furthering her ballet training in Louisville, Kentucky, and plans to pursue her perrformance career in classical and contemporary ballet.













Dawn Powers, Bardstown 


Dawn Powers has been Miss Jamie Lynn's secretary and office manager in Bardstown since October 2014. She handles all accounts for both locations. Dawn is married to Shane and they have two children, Keegan and Zoey. She enjoys working for the studio while watching her daughter learn to dance, sing and act. Dawn also volunteers at her children's elementary school in her spare time.





Angela Puckett, Louisville Receptionist

Angela Puckett has been a part of the Kathy Todd Dance Studio for twelve years, all while watching her own daughters explore their passion and love for dance. Angela attended Kentucky College of Business and Sullivan University to obtain a degree in Accounting as well as Business Management. In addition to her position as Office Manager, she also coaches a middle-school cheer team and is active on three different JCPS school boards. Angela loves dancing with her girls and treasures the memories of dance that will last a lifetime.
